Izvestia: Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphones will appear in Russia before the end of the week
Retailers will bring Samsung smartphones to Russia, the announcement of which is expected on January 17, in the coming days. Izvestia reports this.
Representatives of retailers and mobile operators told the publication’s journalists about this. In particular, the appearance of the flagships of the Galaxy S24 series by the end of the week was reported by MTS, Tele2 and Megafon. M.Video-Eldorado said that they planned to launch pre-orders for the model immediately after the presentation of the devices.
Phones of the new flagship line will also be available for early order on marketplaces. “Sales of the Galaxy S24 series on the marketplace may begin before the end of this week,” Ozon noted. At the same time, apparently, sales of smartphones in the rest of the world will come later.
A source in a large IT distributor told the publication’s journalists that Russian retailers and operators purchase equipment in Armenia, Kazakhstan and the UAE. Foreign dealers, in turn, received a batch of gadgets from the manufacturer in advance. “Since Samsung does not officially operate in Russia, Russian sellers are no longer required to coordinate the start date of sales with the vendor,” the interlocutor emphasized.
At the end of July, it became known that folding smartphones Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 began to be sold in Russia before the rest of the world. The cost of the devices was at least 110 thousand rubles.
