MacRumors: iPhone 16 smartphones will receive at least 8 gigabytes of RAM

Apple will increase the minimum amount of RAM in its smartphones. This was reported by MacRumors.

Journalists referred to a report by Jeff Pu, an analyst at the investment company Haitong International Securities, who stated that all devices in the iPhone 16 line will have 8 gigabytes of RAM. From the author’s disclosures, it appears that increasing RAM can improve multitasking performance on the iPhone.

Also, all devices of the next generation of Apple smartphones will receive support for Wi-Fi 6E. This standard allows data transmission in the 6 gigahertz range, providing faster wireless speeds and reducing interference. The new communication standard is Wi-Fi 7, which provides higher performance – in particular, channel throughput increased from 160 to 320 megahertz.

In the current generation, only the top-end iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max devices have 8 gigabytes of RAM. The starting models iPhone 15 and 15 Plus received 6 gigabytes of memory. The iPhone 16 series is expected to be announced in September.

At the end of December 2023, journalists from MacRumors said that all models of the iPhone 16 series will receive a single A18 processor. The chip appears under the code name Tahiti.
