The material states that at the end of 2023, the share of Chinese manufacturers reached a record – 75 percent in quantitative terms and about 50 percent in monetary terms. Xiaomi was named the most popular smartphone brand, followed by Tecno and Realme. Next on the list are Samsung, Infinix and Apple.
In monetary terms, Apple continued to lead. The top five for this indicator also included Xiaomi, Samsung, Tecno and Realme. In unit sales, the share of devices costing up to 15 thousand rubles increased to 60 percent; in monetary terms, these gadgets accounted for about 25 percent.
In monetary terms, the leaders were smartphones costing more than 50 thousand rubles, their share remained at 40 percent. In quantitative terms, they occupied 10 percent of the market.
“In the coming year, we can predict increased competition between Chinese brands, which are expanding the range of devices in popular price segments, including premium ones,” said Sergei Uvarov, head of the Telecom department of M.Video-Eldorado.
At the end of December, Forbes said that competition among manufacturers has led to a boom in sales of Chinese smartphones in 2023. Thus, companies from China spent huge amounts of money on advertising their products in the media.
