Following the violent events of the past 48 hours, several Latin American governments have expressed solidarity with Ecuador.
Recently, Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said he hopes the country’s crisis of violence will be temporary.
“We support the people and government of Ecuador in this situation, which I hope is temporary and that peace will be restored in the sister country of Ecuador. We have no information about Mexicans affected by these clashes,” the president indicated in his morning conference, now held in Acapulco.
Argentina, Bolivia and Colombia provide Ecuador with assistance during violent events
The Mexican leader condemned the events and supported the actions of the Ecuadorian government to curb the violence.
“In the case of what is happening in Ecuador, we express our solidarity, our support for the people of Ecuador, for their government, and of course we condemn this vandalistic attitude, the violence that we want to impose on ourselves through the use of force . We do not agree with that,” he said.

Mexican Foreign Minister Alicia Bárcena had pointed out on Tuesday that the government was “attentive to the delicate situation developing in Ecuador,” where the Mexican embassy issued a warning to its citizens in the country.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is under consideration, the Secretary, Alicia Bárcena, already issued a statement yesterday, and we will continue to inquire. We wish with all our hearts that peace be restored and that violence disappear,” López Obrador reiterated. .
Moreover, the president ruled out that every Mexican citizen will be affected by the violent events that left at least ten people dead on Tuesday.
The incidents began shortly after a search began in a Guayaquil prison for José Adolfo Macías, alias ‘Fito’, leader of ‘Los Choneros’, considered one of the country’s most dangerous criminal gangs due to his alleged ties to Mexican cartels . apparently escaped this weekend.
