GSMArena: Xreal released Air 2 Ultra AR glasses for $700

The Chinese company Xreal has introduced new augmented reality (AR) glasses. This was reported by GSMArena.

The released device has the form factor of regular glasses. The device received lens-screens and two cameras installed in the arm, which allow you to record spatial video. Each screen of the Air 2 Ultra has a resolution of 1080 pixels, a frequency of 120 hertz, a brightness of 500 nits and a viewing angle of 52 degrees.

According to the manufacturer, the glasses’ cameras and software can be used to track objects with six degrees of freedom (6DoF). Also, the consumer can control the device with his hands without using external controllers. According to journalists, Xreal Air 2 Ultra can be considered a cheap alternative to Apple’s Vision Pro, priced at $3,499. The Chinese device costs $700, or about 63 thousand rubles.

The authors of the publication noted that, unlike other augmented reality devices, the Xreal gadget weighs 80 grams, which was achieved thanks to the titanium case. The new headset will go on sale in March.

Apple previously revealed a set of its augmented reality glasses, which will go on sale in February. In addition to the Vision Pro, the device will include an external battery, replaceable headbands, a charging cable and a USB-C adapter, a napkin, and a carrying case.
