“I closely follow events in Ecuador. President (Daniel) Noboa has my full support as he acts to restore order and counter the ruthless criminals who are destabilizing the country. “The (Joe) Biden administration must ensure it has the resources to succeed.”
That was the message of Michael McCaul, member of the United States House of Representatives (House Foreign Affairs Committee Majority), which he shared through the social network X in relation to the wave of violence that Ecuador is experiencing.

And it’s not the only American authority to speak out: It was also done by Brian A. Nichols, assistant secretary for Western Hemisphere affairs at the U.S. Department of State.
“Very concerned about the current violence and kidnappings in Ecuador. The United States supports the people of Ecuador. We stand ready to provide assistance to the Ecuadorian government and we will remain in close contact with President Daniel Noboa’s team,” he said.

Colombia and Peru reject violent actions in Ecuador
Several countries have spoken out following the violent events recorded in Ecuador on Tuesday, including the raid on a television station by antisocialists who took several media workers hostage.
The Chancellery of Colombia expressed “its explicit and unequivocal support for democratic institutions and the rule of law in the Republic of Ecuador. In this sense, it rejects the recent acts of violence unleashed in several cities of the brotherly country.”

The Peruvian government, on the other hand, condemned the acts of violence, pointing out that they “violate the fundamental rights of Ecuadorians and threaten the security of that brotherly country.” The Government of Peru expresses its support for the government of President Daniel Noboa and for the democratic institutions and stability in Ecuador, and wishes for the speedy restoration of peace and security in that country.”
It also ordered the immediate deployment of a contingent from the National Police’s Special Operations Directorate (Diroes) to the border with Ecuador, given the wave of violence experienced in that country.
