The scandal of a sex trafficking ring that linked Britain’s Prince Andrew to the millionaire Jeffrey Epstein This week things would take a turn.

A judge once ordered the disclosure of court documents in a related lawsuit Ghislaine MaxwellAccording to Epstein’s partner, a long list of at least 150 people linked to the deceased sex offender is likely to be made public in the coming days. That is said to be the result of a demand by The Miami Herald to obtain documents in a defamation lawsuit filed against Maxwell by victim Virginia Giuffre.

“U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska on Monday ordered that the final list of names be made public within two weeks, allowing 14 days to appeal,” the newspaper said.

His circle of friends included former presidents, world leaders and business and financial magnates. So far, only Maxwell has been convicted of crimes related to Epstein’s sex trafficking operation.

The revelations could shed new light on the sex trafficking ring run by Epstein, who died in prison in 2019, and his partner Ghislaine Maxwell. The disgraced millionaire mingled with high-profile figures from the world of politics, business and royalty.

Why are these names made public?

The identities are being revealed as part of a plea deal against Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence for crimes he committed with Epstein. The defamation suit was filed by Virginia Giuffre, one of Maxwell’s accusers, and at the time the names were kept secret under a court-ordered seal. But last month a New York judge ruled that they could now be exposed.

Judge Loretta Preska noted that many of the people named in the lawsuit have already been publicly identified by the media or in Maxwell’s criminal trial. He added that many others “did not object” to the release of the documents. Some names on the list remain sealed, including those of child victims, the judge said in her ruling. And some individuals may have appeared more than once under different Doe numbers, so the exact number of names that will appear is unknown.

There are 187 mentions of “J Doe” in the court documents, and many of them will now be given their real names.

The names of three people remain sealed. They are now identified as J. Doe 58, J. Doe 133, and J. Doe 124. (In the United States it is used Jane Doe or John Doeas an alias to refer to someone unknown or who cannot be identified due to a reservation).

Clinton, passenger on Epstein flights

One of the well-known names that will be featured this week is Bill Clinton. According to ABC News, the former president of the United States is mentioned more than fifty times in court documents. But there is no question of illegality. He traveled on Epstein’s plane on humanitarian trips to Africa in the early 2000s and praised Epstein at the time as a committed philanthropist.

Clinton’s team has previously said she cut ties with Epstein before the financier was investigated. They have said in the past that they know nothing about Epstein’s crimes. Many of his mentions in these court documents relate to Virginia Giuffre’s failed attempts to get the former president to testify about her relationship with Epstein, ABC says.

Virginia Giuffre was 17 when she was allegedly sexually abused by Britain’s Prince Andrew, with whom she became linked as a friend of Epstein. After a After a civil lawsuit filed in a New York court, Giuffre and Andrés reached an out-of-court settlement.

In that agreement, signed in 2009, Giuffre stopped pursuing Epstein “and other potential suspects” in sexual abuse cases, in exchange for a payment of half a million dollars. (JO)
