“He left my sisters without their mother”: He killed his wife and brother-in-law because they asked him to turn down the music volume

Faces we see, hearts we don’t know. Who would have guessed that Víctor Figueroa, the man in a loving pose embracing his wife for photos, would be the same one who would take her life.

But on the night of Saturday, December 23, 2023, it would not be the only crime he would commit: he also murdered a brother-in-law.

The events took place on Rosales Street in the Belgrano neighborhood, in Mar del Plata, Argentina, Clarín said.

Figueroa, although trying to escape from the scene of the double murder, was held to answer for the death of Rosana Coronel, who was his partner; and Marcelo, her brother.

The reason that unleashed the tragedy on the eve of Christmas Eve was the request that Rosana made to her to lower the volume of the music, published in T13.

On the night of December 23, Víctor and Rosana – according to the media quoting Clarín – returned home somewhat drunk.

Marcelo, faced with the argument, went to help his sister and that made Víctor Figueroa even angrier, who did not hesitate to end the bad time in the worst way: he looked for a revolver.

A bullet hit Rosana in the neck; Marcelo’s head was hit. Their deaths were reported in a hospital.

According to T13, Figueroa has a previous criminal record for sexual abuse and cover-up.

Now he left Rosana’s three daughters orphaned. The minors are 11 and 15 years old.

He tried to escape and the family is demanding justice

Perhaps when he reacted and saw the extent of what had been done, he tried to escape in his car. However, the quick call to 911 thwarted their plans. The judicial authorities of Mar del Plata took up the case.

Anabela described her mother as ‘a good, hardworking woman’.

Together with other family members, the young woman hopes “that justice will be done for my mother and my uncle and that they will at least be given life. Let justice be done because there is no name for what he did,” Clarín said.

When the argument started, Rosana’s daughters were also in the house. Anabela complained: ‘This murderer left my sisters, aged eleven and fifteen, without a mother.’

On social networks, user Yris Vargas complained in shock: “Holy God, this could have been prevented.” And Teresa Morales added: “There’s a lot of aggressiveness in everything.”

Carla González stated: “Unfortunately, we downplay the importance of mental health. How sad that someone has to reach this level of anger and lack of control.

Victor’s “bad mood” was no secret. Anabela, the daughter and niece of the victims, acknowledged: “We knew it was violent, but we could never have imagined anything like it.”
