The Motorola RAZR 40 Ultra is a high-end smartphone with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. It features a 6.9-inch 165Hz LTPO AMOLED foldable display, with an 85.1% screen-to-body ratio.

The RAZR 40 Ultra also features a glass frame and a matte finish on the back.

It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor that powers next-generation features and performance optimizations like advanced AI and a super-fast refresh rate.

It offers an improvement in construction quality with a glass and aluminum finish. The design has been improved in terms of dust resistance and the secondary screen has grown to 3.6 inches at 144 Hz, which also doubles as a mirror for taking selfies with the main camera.

Unfolded, it has a 6.9-inch screen, larger than an iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, its weight of 188.5 grams makes it relatively comfortable to use.

The fold is barely noticeable visually and tactilely, which shows a significant evolution in the design of the foldable.

The Razr 40 Ultra’s hinge has evolved with greater resistance, absence of screen gaps and elimination of unnecessary elements in the design.

These improvements bring the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra’s hinge in line with the quality of comparable models.

The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra continues with the same Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor from the previous model, accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

At the performance level, the phone can handle games, applications and emulators without any problems, although the temperature rises easily.

The thermal performance of the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra is a weak point as it struggles to dissipate heat efficiently, resulting in overheating when charging for long periods of time. The phone had to restart a few times.

In the photographic section, the Razr 40 Ultra comes with two 12 and 13 megapixel sensors, it shows quite good results in daytime photography, although the processing and dynamic range are not entirely convincing.

Using HDR in intense situations tends to produce a watercolor effect, and night photos show similar results. The ultra-wide angle offers versatility, but with modest results.

The selfie is a plus in this model. Using the main camera as a selfie camera is often preferable due to issues with HDR in bright light situations.

In terms of video, the phone allows you to record up to 4K 60 FPS, although there is some limitation in quality due to the size of the sensor.

Despite the 3,800 mAh battery, the Razr 40 Ultra exceeds 6 hours of screen time in mixed use and can reach 5:30 hours with games and camera, showing remarkable optimization by Motorola.

The phone has high-quality sound with support for Dolby Atmos, spatial sound and background noise reduction for VoIP calls.

The maximum volume is not overly high, but this helps reduce distortion at higher volume levels.

The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra is positioned as a relevant competitor in the foldable phone segment, offering significant improvements in design, display and performance.

Although it has some limitations, such as the difficulty of accessing the buttons panel, its evolution compared to the previous model places it as an option to consider in the Flip phone market.

What can you do from the RAZR 40 Ultra’s outer screen?
