A brawl at Polsat, it was about TVP. The PiS MP left the studio in anger

Recently, there has been row after row in the media. The tense situation related to changes in the government is particularly affecting politicians. There are strong accusations in the discussions, and there are also emotional reactions. During one of them, PiS politician Bartosz Kownacki left the Polsat News studio.

Donald Tusk’s new government does not wait with changes. He intends to fulfill his election promises quickly so as not to lose the trust of his allies. The Prime Minister announces the draft law on civil partnerships and work on financing the Church from the faithful’s taxes. Changes in public media were also a priority for those in power.

The revolution on TVP started before Christmas. The “recovery” of Telewizja Polska by the new authorities arouses great emotions, which is also visible during discussions on other stations. During the “Debate of the Day” on Polsat News, a row broke out between Konrad Frysztak from the Civic Coalition and Bartosz Kownacki from Law and Justice. It was about journalists from Public Television.

Frysztak said that during PiS’s rule at Telewizja Polska, employees acted as “in Nazi or Stalinist times.” Kownacki couldn’t help but react to such a strong comment. “You behave like the worst knackered pseudo-MP, you are a neo-MP,” the PiS politician retorted. “Am I supposed to call you a Nazi? A Stalinist? Do you know who the Nazis were? What were concentration camps? Do you know what the UB murders people in torture chambers? Don’t you know that? Do you compare anyone today to these people?” – He was asking.

“It’s a shame, you’re a zero”

In fact, Frysztak’s comparisons were inappropriate, and similar rhetoric was used by right-wing politicians regarding, among others, Agnieszka Holland. They were strongly condemned for this at the time. “It’s a shame. You should go under the table and bark back, like it was in ancient Poland,” said Kownacki.

The host of the program, Agnieszka Gozdyra, reacted to the words of the KO politician. “I know you were only talking about propaganda, but I think that comparing anyone to Nazis…” she began, but Frysztak did not give up. “It’s a shame, you’re a zero. Either you ask the MP to leave the studio, or… I won’t allow anyone to behave like this,” Kownacki replied.

However, Gozdyra did not ask the KO MP to leave the studio, and Frysztak did not apologize. Kownacki said he would not continue talking to “someone like that” and left the studio.
