India Today: Ex-Apple designer Jony Ive will develop a smartphone with ChatGPT
Former Apple executives gathered to create an iPhone competitor. India Today reports this.
Media journalists drew attention to Bloomberg’s report that one of the creators of the iPhone, Tan Tan, left Apple for Jony Ive’s LoveFrom company. Tan will be developing a specific device with the support of the company that created ChatGPT OpenAI. The authors suggested that the LoveFrom team could be working on an alternative device to other smartphones.
As the main arguments, experts noted that Joni Ive spent 27 years in the company where he was behind the creation of the iPhone, Mac, iPad and other devices. In turn, OpenAI has ambitions to create its first device. In this regard, ex-Apple employees must develop a smartphone with support for artificial intelligence (AI).
According to India Today, the iPhone, released in 2006, revolutionized the market. The material states that a smartphone with AI support could have a similar impact on the industry in 2024. “These people have the best chance of upending the existing world order and creating something completely new,” the journalists concluded.
At the end of December, Apple experts described a new way of working with generative artificial intelligence tools on smartphones. According to them, AI can use the resources of the device’s built-in memory rather than RAM.
