Bloomberg: One of the creators of the iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods has left Apple
Designer Tan Tan, considered one of the creators of the iPhone, has left Apple. Bloomberg reports this.
According to columnist Mark Gurman, Tan was one of the designers responsible for creating the iPhone smartphone, Apple Watch and AirPods headphones. The specialist went to LoveFrom, a company founded by former Apple lead designer Jony Ive.
Gurman revealed that Tan Tan will be working with Ive on a certain artificial intelligence (AI) related device. The project was launched with the support of Sam Altman from OpenAI.
The material says that the departure of an experienced specialist was a shock for Apple. Mark Gurman recalled that since 2019, 14 employees who were part of the team of former chief designer Jony Ive have left the American corporation. Apple, OpenAI and LoveFrom declined to comment on the news.
In July 2022, it became known that former Apple lead designer Jony Ive, who had been working with the company as a consultant since 2019, had stopped working with the company. Ive probably left Apple due to disagreement with the head of the corporation, Tim Cook, on many issues.
