You received a new smartphone as a gift, but you are lost in the thicket of applications available in the Google Play and Apple App Store? Here are five free apps worth installing on your device.

Goodreads (Android, iOS)

“Next year I will read more” – this is probably one of the most popular New Year’s resolutions. The Goodreads application will not only allow you to find new interesting books to add to your virtual shelf, but it can also help you develop the habit of reading.

At the beginning of the year, you set the number of books you want to read in the next 12 months and then write down your progress. The biggest and only drawback of this application is the lack of a Polish language version.

Bobby (Android, iOS)

If, like me, you are lost in electricity, cable, Spotify and Netflix bills, install the Bobby app. It helps you control all our subscriptions and subscriptions.

Bobby will remind us about an approaching or exceeded payment deadline. Thanks to the application, we will also find out whether we are paying for a service that we have stopped using for a long time.

Airly (Android, iOS)

Today, smog has become an integral part of our landscape. If you want to constantly monitor the air quality in your area, install Airly. This application works based on a network of own sensors located throughout Poland, as well as data from the stations of the Chief Inspectorate of Environmental Protection.

Airly presents up-to-date information on overall air quality as well as temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure. The application will also alert us when the concentration of harmful PM2.5 and PM10 dust reaches an alarming level.

Canva (Android, iOS)

Canva is an extensive, yet very simple and intuitive tool for creating posters, invitations, presentations and business cards. With literally a dozen or so taps on the screen, we can prepare professional-looking graphics.

We have hundreds of ready-made templates, various fonts, photos and other graphic elements at our disposal, making each of our projects unique in its own way. The finished graphics can then be saved in the device’s memory, printed or published on Facebook or Instagram.

Brave (Android, iOS)

Brave is a slightly less known mobile browser that is a great alternative to market giants. Its creators focus primarily on security and protection of user privacy. The application automatically blocks dangerous scripts and protects us against malicious software attacks.

The advantages of Brave also include speed of operation, support for biometric functions, as well as battery and data savings. The premium version of the application also includes a VPN service and encrypted video calls.
