Former football player Lovchev announced the reluctance of coach Slutsky to work in Russia
Former footballer of Spartak Moscow and the USSR national team Evgeny Lovchev spoke in his Telegram channel about coach Leonid Slutsky’s reluctance to work in Russia.
Lovchev stated that the meeting with Slutsky took place in a cafe in the Ostankino television center about a year ago. “As I understand it, it was because of the refereeing when his Rubin was nailed,” he shared the details.
On December 19, it became known that Slutsky was offered a job at the Chinese football club Shanghai Shenhua. The team is in fifth place in the Chinese Championship with 52 points from 30 matches.
Slutsky’s last club was Rubin, where he worked from 2019 to 2022. It was clarified that he left the team of his own free will.
The coach is known for his work at Krylia Sovetov, Moscow, CSKA, as well as the English Hull City and the Dutch Vitesse. Slutsky achieved his greatest success as a coach of the army team.
