Android Authority: Battery status indicator will be added to Android
A tool will be added to Android smartphones that will allow you to monitor the battery status. Android Authority reports this.
Experts paid attention to the beta version of Android 14, in the settings of which they found a new menu item – “Battery status”. When you go to the section, the system shows the number of full charge cycles of the device – this is one of the popular indicators of battery life.
According to media authors, a similar status indicator appeared on Apple smartphones several years ago. With its help, device owners can evaluate the battery life of the iPhone.
Experts noted that the battery condition is also displayed as a percentage. The authors gave an example that the Google Pixel 8 phone can have a maximum battery capacity of 90 percent. This means that its actual capacity has dropped from 4575 to 4118 milliamp-hours.
Judging by the information from the beta version, Google intends to provide users with more battery data. In addition to the number of cycles and capacity, you can view the battery serial number in the settings.
Previously, blogger Marques Brownlee named Google Pixel 8 the best smartphone of 2023. The list also includes iPhone 15 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, Asus Zenfone 10.
