A total of US$1,024.1 million was paid to the Peruvian State by companies that work in the hydrocarbon sector for royalties in the period from January to October of this year, indicated the National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE).
The energy mining union noted that this figure (US$1,024.1 million) represented a drop of 34.6% in relation to the US$1,565.5 million that oil companies paid in royalties between January and October 2022.
Companies operating in the national hydrocarbon industry delivered US$107.4 million in royalties only in the tenth month of the year, which meant a growth of 5.6% compared to the same month of 2022 (US$101.7 million). .
Likewise, the SNMPE announced that the royalties for last October (US$107.4 million) were lower than those reported in the same month of 2021 (US$156.1 million).
The energy mining union explained that, last October, companies in the hydrocarbon sector paid royalties: US$52.6 million for the exploitation of natural gas and US$21.9 million for oil; as well as US$33 million for the production of natural gas liquids.
