The new feature was spotted by WABetaInfo in the beta version of WhatsApp on Android smartphones. Apparently, the Meta conglomerate (the owner of the messenger) wants us to not have to leave WhatsApp even for a moment.
WhatsApp with a very interesting feature. Listening to music together while talking
The new feature will allow users to listen to music together during a video call on WhatsApp. According to reports, the function has been embedded in the screen sharing option during a call. After enabling it, WhatsApp will share with the interlocutor(s) not only what we see on the screen in real time, but also all sounds directly from the smartphone (and not “heard” through the device’s microphone).
Thanks to this, the function will be useful for listening to your favorite songs together, watching a music video or even a video saved in the phone’s memory. WhatsApp apparently wants to discourage us from using the shared listening to music or podcasts function available in streaming applications.
the novelty is to be available for both Android and iOS smartphones, and will probably appear in the stable version of the messenger in the near future. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to work on voice calls, only video calls.
Interestingly, WhatsApp is working on increasing the integration of the popular messenger with Facebook and Instagram (both portals also belong to the Meta conglomerate). WhatsApp will feature the option of optionally sharing status updates on Instagram with one click. Previously, a similar option had already appeared on Facebook. Thus, the function is available in both social networking sites of the company led by Mark Zuckerberg.
