Ukraine received from the Polish authorities five thousand terminals to operate the Starlink system by SpaceX. The country fighting with Russia wants to use them in frontline areas.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine boasted of receiving PLN 5,000. Elon Musk’s SpaceX satellite internet terminals. The devices were provided by the Polish authorities and are another large package of terminals for receiving the Internet from space.

The Ukrainian ministry also published on Telegram photos of new antennas that have already arrived in Ukraine. It also thanked the Polish government and the Ministry of Digital Affairs for “strong support in ensuring communication in Ukraine.” Mykhailo Fedorov, the Minister of Digital Transformation, also expressed his gratitude for the “consistent support” on the X website, publishing two more photos of received devices for using the Starlink system.

As written, the terminals will be distributed to frontline or recovered areas, where they will allow communication with the world to be restored. They are intended to ensure the normal functioning of schools, medical facilities and energy infrastructure in areas cut off from the wired or terrestrial networks.

The ministry also emphasized that thanks to the Starlink system, thousands of Ukrainians can use “high-quality Internet” and stay in touch with the world, even in the event of power outages. It was added that there are already 47,000 operations in Ukraine. terminals for operating the Internet from space, and by far the most (19.5 thousand pieces) were donated by Poland.

It is worth recalling that the Ukrainian army also willingly uses the Internet provided by Starlink satellites. Internet from space from SpaceX works completely independently of the local infrastructure, and the antennas for receiving it can be powered even from a car socket. Soldiers use Starlinks for communication, but also for remote control of drones.
