JP Morgan: Apple will lose $5 billion due to ban on sale of Apple Watch
Apple will lose billions of dollars due to a ban on the sale of Apple Watch. Appleinsider reports this.
JP Morgan analysts predicted that the American IT giant would lose about five billion dollars due to the ban on the sale of Apple Watch 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2. Until December 25, the company will have to stop sales of new smartwatches in the United States.
The organization’s specialists calculated Apple’s losses based on IDC sales data. Thus, the company sells about 43.9 million units of smartwatches per year at an average price of $466, which corresponds to approximately $20 billion in revenue. New devices, the sale of which was banned, account for about 80 percent of shipments, and about 30 percent of smartwatches are sold in the United States.
JP Morgan noted that five billion is an approximate figure. Ultimately, it will depend on how quickly Apple resolves the patent dispute and resumes sales of watches.
Earlier, the head of Masimo, Joe Kiani, whose complaint led to Apple Watch sales being banned in the United States, proposed resolving the conflict with compensation. According to Kiani, Apple broke the law and must be punished.
