The shrine doesn’t give you a headache, but the residents of the Jagodno estate in Wrocław have quite a problem because of it. There are two separate InPost parcel lockers at 100 Buforowa Street. The machines look the same and have the same address, but different numbers. However, it turns out that few people pay attention to this detail.
They have the same addresses, but different parcel lockers. Residents have problems
As he writes, even the InPost application does not distinguish between two parcel lockers located next to each other and issues parcels to other people. He adds that on local social media groups you can find many posts from people whose parcels were lost in this way. When ordering, most people apparently do not pay much attention to which of the two parcel lockers they ordered the shipment to.
For years, the InPost application has allowed you to open a locker in a parcel locker from your phone without having to approach the machine’s panel. To avoid mistakes, a function has been added to the program to check the location of the person who wants to open the box. If its position coincides with the location of the parcel locker, the system allows you to collect the parcel in this way. Then, at most one person can pick up the parcel of another user who wanted to pick up the parcel at the same parcel locker at the same time.
Only that on ul. Buforowa 100 in Wrocław, this protection does not work. The machines are close enough to each other that by standing under one of them, we can open the compartment in both machines. When someone uses the second machine, they may mistakenly pick up someone else’s parcel, leaving their own in the parcel locker. However, the owner of the parcel has the impression that the application does not work because the door of the machine under which he is standing does not even move. Finding the person who has already sent the wrong parcel will be quite a challenge.
The number of parcel lockers is growing. InPost is supposed to fix the problem
As tuWroclaw.com writes, InPost already knows the problem and is developing a solution. – We know this case. A technical team will go there today or tomorrow and prepare a solution to this problem, announced Wojciech Kądziołka, InPost spokesman, in an interview with the portal on Tuesday. Appropriate solution to the problem may be extremely important, because the number of InPost parcel machines, especially in large cities, is constantly growing. In September this year already 20.6 thousand parcel lockers in Poland.
