MEF approves external debt with the IDB for US$350 million until 2038

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) approved an external debt operation with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for up to US$350 million to partially finance the public investment project “Expansion and improvement of drinking water services and sewage of the city of Juliaca – Puno.”

Supreme Decree No. 287-2023-EF also agrees to establish a Conditional Credit Line for Investment Projects (CCLIP) for up to US$700 million to finance investment projects aimed at improving the quality of life of the beneficiary population. in the area of ​​the city of Juliaca – Puno Region, through improvement in access, quality and management of basic services.

Regarding the debt subscribed with the IDB for US$350 million, the cancellation period of the aforementioned external debt operation is 15 years from the date of signing the Loan Contract, through semiannual, consecutive and, if possible, equal installments. , starting the first payment on November 15, 2030 and the last payment on November 15, 2038.

The aforementioned external indebtedness is subject to a credit commission on the undisbursed balance of the loan, which is established periodically, in accordance with the applicable provisions of the IDB policy, without exceeding 0.75% annually.

During the disbursement period there is no inspection and surveillance fee, unless the IDB restores it during the original disbursement period, in which case no more than 1% of the loan amount, divided by the number of semesters included in the original disbursement period.

The Executing Unit of the public investment project “Expansion and improvement of drinking water and sewage services in the City of Juliaca – Puno” is the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, through the National Urban Sanitation Program – PNSU.
