The domestic smartphone R-FON and ROSA Mobile OS were presented in Russia
The domestic smartphone R-FON and the ROSA Mobile operating system were presented in Moscow. This is reported on the project website.
The development of the device was carried out by engineers from STC IT ROSA. The device received a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and support for a frequency of 120 Hz, a MediaTek Helio G99 processor, 8 gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of internal memory.
The R-FON comes pre-installed with the ROSA Mobile operating system. According to representatives of the Scientific and Technical Center IT ROSA, drivers for the components were also created by Russian engineers, which eliminates the presence of system vulnerabilities. The device also received a camera with a main sensor with a resolution of 50 megapixels, a battery with a capacity of 5000 milliamp-hours, a USB-C port, NFC, and a headphone jack.
General Director of JSC Rutek Dmitry Ivannikov said that all components of R-FON are foreign – Russian specialists were responsible for installation and OS. The new device is included in the Unified Register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of industrial products manufactured in the Russian Federation.
The price of the smartphone is not disclosed; it will go on sale in early 2024. The device will be available to corporate clients; retail sales may be launched in the future.
An image of the Russian R-FON phone appeared online in August. “All OS features and interface are kept secret until the announcement!” — said the head of the Association of Professional Users of Social Networks and Messengers Vladimir Zykov.
