The first groups of people arrived from Texas, sent by the Republican governor, Greg Abbottto the Democratic states in response to the immigration policies of the US President’s administration, Joe Biden.

Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantisalso joined Abbott’s initiative.

Many other migrants have arrived on their own, which is attributed to the court’s right to shelter, which the mayor has asked to be revoked while the budget crisis continues and is currently being challenged in federal court.

Adams and New York State Governor, Democrat Kathy Hochul, have asked Biden for economic help to deal with the city’s budget crisis, which has not happened so far.
