Sejm would earn a lot as a YouTuber. There were specific amounts. Your competitors may envy you

The Sejm could really earn a lot on YouTube. And that’s only on standard ads, usually displayed before and during the movie. Experts interviewed by “Rzeczpospolita” indicate specific amounts. And this is not the end of the possibilities.

The YouTube channel run by the Chancellery of the Sejm is seeing growth that an average YouTuber can only dream of. The number of followers increases by several or tens of thousands of people every day. Currently (as of December 14, 8:00 a.m.), the Sejm RP channel has already 610,000 subscribers. Internet users, and the overwhelming majority joined in the last four weeks – already during the current term of office of the Sejm.

As if that were not enough, each film published by the Chancellery of the Sejm also enjoys enormous popularity. Two record-breaking recordings (broadcasts from the meeting on December 11 and 12) had over 4 million views each (4.22 and 4.25 million, respectively), and the remaining recordings of the broadcasts from the proceedings were viewed, in the worst case, nearly a million times. The press conferences of the Speaker of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, are also very popular.

Sejm would earn a fortune as a YouTuber. If he wanted to

Such popularity of the proceedings means that the Sejm channel has great advertising potential, even though (most likely) it does not intend to use it. Wojciech Kardyś, an internet communication and social media expert with whom she talked, believes that – taking into account the number of views – the Sejm could count on six-figure sums each month.

– It has a lot of views, so you can talk about even six-figure sums per month: over 100,000. zloty. Of course, provided that the results would be maintained in the long term – said Kardyś in an interview with “Rz”. And we are only talking about earnings from the so-called monetization, i.e. displays of advertisements appearing before (sometimes also during) the materials.

Currently, monetization on the Sejm channel is disabled, which means that recordings from the plenary chamber are not interrupted by advertising, and YouTube does not pay the Sejm Chancellery any money for its activities on the platform. It can also be assumed that the Sejm has no such plans, because it could undermine the seriousness of this institution.

Monetization and cooperation. Even several hundred thousand a month

Of course, it is unrealistic to estimate exact amounts because everything depends, among others, on: on the fate of the Sejm channel (currently it is recording popularity records, because the fate of the government was hanging in the balance in the plenary chamber) and the profile of viewers and their attachment to the brand.

However, as Mateusz Korowaj, manager of the Goat influencer marketing agency, pointed out when asked by “Rz”, the average result per thousand views can be estimated at PLN 10 in this case. The last two recordings from the meeting recorded a total of over 8.4 million views, which translates into over 85,000 views. zloty. And this is assuming that the ads would only appear at the beginning of the material. And broadcasts often last up to 11-12 hours, so the potential for advertising during the material would be considerable.

The second source of income for YouTubers is cooperation with brands. Such cooperation between companies and the Parliament is, of course, unrealistic, but the purely hypothetical amounts estimated are impressive. The interlocutor of “Rzeczpospolita” notes that for a channel with similar statistics to the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, the price for placement in the material would start from approximately PLN 25,000. PLN net. It is much more expensive to create a film especially for the client – in this case the price list would start from PLN 40,000. PLN for the video. Together with monetization, it could translate into profits of up to several hundred thousand zlotys per month, which would place Sejm among the highest-earning YouTubers in Poland.
