The ministers in the cabinet of new president of Argentina, Javier Mileiswore their positions this Sunday during an event that took place in the White Room of Casa Rosada, the government headquarters.

“The President of the Argentine Republic Javier Milei signed the decree appointing ministers. This decision reduces the number of existing ministries to 9″, Milei published on her official account on the social network X.

Previously there were 18 ministries.

The signing of this decree will unite the Ministries of Transport, Public Works, Mining, Energy and Communications and other ministries such as Social Development, Health, Labor and Education. While the Ministry of Culture becomes a secretariat.

The reduced cabinet also delivers on the campaign promise reduce government expenditure.

On the other hand, Nicolás Posse – a man very close to Milei, whom he met when they both worked at the private company Corporación América – was appointed chief of staff; while Karina Milei, the president’s sister, was appointed general secretary of the presidency. (JO)
