Former Minister of Digital Affairs hacked on X. He cannot delete the model’s photos. How to do it?

Unusual photos of the model appeared on the Twitter account of Michał Boni, former Minister of Administration and Digitization. The politician points out that someone hacked his account, but he deleted the photos for some reason.

There have been many similar cases. Hackers eagerly target the accounts of famous people, including politicians, and share spam or content that may discredit the account owner. This time the case concerns Michał Boni, who was the Minister of Administration and Digitization in 2011–2013.

Someone shared photos of the model on Michał Boni’s account. They didn’t disappear

Over the weekend, two spicy photos of a model and an internet influencer appeared on the politician’s account on the X website (formerly Twitter). They were posted by the woman on November 24 and December 2, and then shared on Boni’s account. Internet users also quickly noticed that the perpetrator of the commotion liked both photos (from the politician’s account), which in the case of X, anyone can easily check.

Michał Boni reacted quite quickly. Already on December 2, he stated in a post on X that his account had been taken over and the photos “were not his”. However, the entry is at least puzzling because it is full of errors and typos. Not to mention the fact that it contains absolutely no Polish characters.

Someone hacked into the account and some photos appeared – they’re not mine!!!!!

– Boni wrote on Saturday on the X website (original spelling of the entry).

Even more puzzling, however, is the fact that Michał Boni did not withdraw either the shares or likes of the photo, even though – as the above entry suggests – he has access to his account again. And this despite the fact that almost two days have passed since the publication of the entry about account takeover, and in the comments X users explain how it can be done.

How to undo shared photos on X. This will take a moment

suggests that the former minister’s account could have been taken over in three ways. The first is phishing, i.e. the classic extortion of login data by, for example, impersonating a fraudster as the administration of portal The third is to infect your computer with malware (e.g. by installing a fake browser plug-in).

Regardless of how someone took over any account, once access to it is regained, the owner should change the login details as soon as possible and, of course, delete the likes and retweets caused by the hacker. It is also worth making sure that you clear your browser of plug-ins, history and cookies and scan your computer with anti-virus software.

It’s also easy to undo shares, although it may not be entirely intuitive at first. Just go to the shared post, click on the retweet icon and unshare. You can, in turn, remove a like by clicking the like icon again. This process will take literally several dozen seconds and allows you to get rid of unwanted content from your account.
