, when channels located on the MUX-1, MUX-2 and MUX-4 multiplexes (i.e. almost all commercial TV channels) started broadcasting in the new standard. For the most important TVP channels (TVP1, TVP2, TVP3, TVP Historia, TVP Sport and TVP Info) located on the MUX-3 multiplex (and four commercial channels from MUX-8)
Poland divided almost in half. The trial will start in the west of the country
However, in December, TVP will join other broadcasters and start broadcasting under the new DVB-T2 standard. It turns out that the process will not take place in all voivodeships at the same time. Poland will be divided into two parts. First, TVP will start broadcasting in the new system in the west of the country.
On the night of December 14-15, the MUX-3 multiplex will switch to the DVB-T2 standard in the West Pomeranian, Pomeranian, Lubusz, Greater Poland, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Lower Silesian, Łódź, Opole and Silesian voivodeships. The eastern part of the country, i.e. the Warmian-Masurian, Podlaskie, Masovian, Świętokrzyskie, Lublin, Lesser Poland and Podkarpackie voivodeships, will join the rest of Poland on the night of December 18-19.
Regardless of the province, it is worth remembering that changing the terrestrial TV signal to DVB-T2 means the need to replace older TV sets or decoders. Devices that are not adapted to the new standard will stop receiving Polish Television channels from December 15 or 19. The vast majority of consumers already use DVB-T2 compatible TV sets, but a certain group is still delaying the replacement of the receiver. It is estimated that these may number several dozen or even several hundred thousand households.
Purchasing equipment that supports the new standard does not have to involve a large expense. Currently, not only all new ones, but also slightly older ones (such as TV models from two or three years ago) support DVB-T2. You can always decide to buy an additional DVB-T2 decoder, the prices of which start from several dozen zlotys.
