DSCC: iPhone 15 series smartphones turned out to be more popular than iPhone 14 and 13

Apple sold more new iPhones than in 2022 and 2021. This is reported in a report by Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC).

Agency specialists assessed the success of current smartphones relative to other brand models. It turned out that two months after the devices went on sale, the supply of displays for the iPhone 15 exceeded the supply of front panels for the iPhone 14 by 16 percent, and the iPhone 13 by 21 percent. From this, analysts concluded that current phones are more popular than models of previous years.

It also turned out that Apple began selling more expensive flagships than before. The share of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models relative to all devices in the line was 64 percent. For comparison: in the case of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 13, this figure was 54 percent.

In addition, in September, Apple ordered 65 percent of the panels for Pro gadgets. In October, that figure rose to 71 percent. DSCC analysts concluded that the American company sold expensive smartphones more often and, accordingly, earned more.

Earlier, Counterpoint Research experts said that smartphone shipments to Europe fell by 11 percent in the third quarter. Samsung remained the market leader, with Apple and Xiaomi below.
