With professional maturity, seasoned with what logically comes with age, a couple made the decision to take their business forward. Spouses Harvey and Maddy Rovinsky, owners of the chain Bernie Robbins Jowelersagreed to leave their thriving jewelry business in the hands of their most loyal employees.
The establishment, El Tiempo noted, “is one of the most recognized in New Jersey, in the United States.” The couple is known “for selling watches, rings and gemstones, both renowned brands and their own.”
The jewelry store was founded in the 1960s and it was Maddy’s parents who started it. It was up to her, along with Harvey, to keep it going.
Today when they say they have reached retirement age, they announce what will happen to the jewelry.
“My wife and I are no longer children. We have no family in the company and we need a path for succession,” Harvey explained in an interview with ‘Fox News’ published by VPiTV.

A jewelry store, a family
The owner takes pride in working with hardworking and professional people. He considers some of them family and regards them as family.
Neither his nor his wife’s had the idea of selling the jewelry store.
“We have been looking for a way to continue and keep some great people employed. Many of them have been with us for 30, 25 or 20 years (…) they are like a family,” he explained.
For the spouses, the employees know the job perfectly.
“They understand our culture, they understand what we want,” they say at the same time with confidence and gratitude.
“They did it and we were fortunate that the economics were not a motivation. So we are going to continue business with the people who know how to deal with it,” he told the American press.
At this time, it is unknown how many employees will be in charge of the famous jewelry store. The transfer will take place in the first quarter of 2024, El Tiempo reports.
Rovinsky will not be saying goodbye to the jewelry store so quickly: “the future owners have asked him to continue working at the company” and will appoint him “executive director” once the transition is made official, El Comercio reported.
I am flattered and honored to have been asked to stay.
