The elected president of ArgentinaJavier Milei, met this Tuesday at the White House with advisers to the President of the United States, Joe Bidento strengthen ties between the US and the future Argentine government.

The roughly hour-long meeting with White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Biden’s Latin America adviser Juan González It was the only one the libertarian politician maintained during his short visit to the US capital.

The leader of the far-right party La Libertad Avanza had planned a meeting with representatives of the party International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Ministry of Financebut only his associates attended those meetings.

The president-elect traveled to the United States with his sister, Karina Milei; his advisors Nicolás Posse, Luis Caputo, Gerardo Werthein and Santiago Caputo and the US ambassador to Argentina, Marc Stanley.

Posse sounds like Milei’s future chief of staff, Luis Caputo like the next Minister of Economy and Werthein like the Argentine ambassador to the United States.

Milei, who returns to Buenos Aires on Tuesday, arrived in Washington on Monday evening after a brief visit to New York.

In the Big Apple, Argentina’s next president visited Rabbi Schneerson’s grave and then had lunch with former US President Bill Clinton (1993-2001) and Chris Dodd, Biden’s special adviser on Latin America.

Despite his close relationship with Trump, Milei did not meet with the Republican in the United States, whom he has invited to visit Buenos Aires. (JO)
