The Schengen visa is a short-term or temporary entry permit for 27 European countries, for visits of up to 90 days in a 180-day period.

Ecuador has requested exemption from the Schengen visa through various governments. However, the transactions were delayed compared to the agreements reached by Peruvians and Colombians, so Ecuadorians still need a Schengen visa to move into this space.

With this visa you can travel to all countries in the Schengen area, which includes 27 European countries.

The European Union approves the procedure for applying for a Schengen visa online

People applying for a visa to visit the Schengen area will soon do so through an online platform, according to an amendment adopted by European Union foreign ministers on Monday, November 13. Before this new measure can be applied, the technical work on the visa platform and the digital visa must be completed.

The shift to digitalizing the visa process will also eliminate the need for applicants to obtain a sticker in their passport, meaning no more appointments at consulates or service provider offices.

For those making an initial application, only one face-to-face appearance is requiredbut also for people whose biometric data is no longer valid and for those who have new travel documents.
