Russians were advised to disable some smartphone functions

Russians were advised to prohibit applications from running in the background

In order to save battery power and increase the security of personal data, it is worth disabling some smartphone functions. Vahe Zakaryan, head of the Gem Space superapp development team, spoke about this. His words are quoted by the Prime agency.

First of all, according to the expert, we are talking about optional notifications from applications – they can be removed in the settings. Leaving it only where it is really needed. For example, in instant messengers or banking services. In the site settings you can also set a ban on sending notifications.

It is also better to disable most applications from running in the background – this, as Zakarian notes, is not beneficial, but at the same time wastes battery power and reduces security. “In the background, applications can not only download updates, but also send information to third parties,” the expert warned.

Another smartphone feature that you need to be careful with is geolocation. It should also only be left where it is really needed, such as taxi apps. In other cases, location information is not used and there is no need to track it.

The Russians were named taboo topics for conversation around smart technology. Director of the IT-Reserve company Pavel Myasoedov recommended not to disclose personal data near such devices.
