Yape: how many monetary transactions were recorded in the third quarter of the year?

For the third quarter of the year (July-September), un total of 794 million monetary transactions through Yapand. This represents an increase compared to the previous three months, where the number of transactions reached 615 million.

In detail, 3.8 million customers have made 10.6 million payments for services, 42 million in telephone recharges and 2.3 million transactions through Yape Promo, which reached an amount of S/40 million.

It should be noted that, by September, the number of users of this digital wallet increased to 13.4 million and of that total, 9.8 million carried out transactions at least once a month. This also represents an increase, since previously only 12.6 million had been registered, of which 70% carried out one operation per month.

Interoperability: Users can transfer money to other banks from Yape

As recalled, interoperability between Yape and Plin began to work at the beginning of May, after completing all deployment phases. According to the information that emerged, the total of transfers between June of this year, a month and a half after the launch, exceeded one million daily operations and has just reached a peak of 1 million 400,000 as of August 31. Thus, 30 million operations were registered per month.

In that sense, the second phase of interoperability is already being carried out and since September 13 it has been enabled to make payments from these wallets (Yape and Plin) with a bank, savings bank, financial institution or digital wallet using only the number of recipient’s cell phone. In this way, it will not be mandatory to provide the 20 digits of the interbank account code (CCI).
