A criminal who didn’t care that the man he wanted to kill was with his three-year-old daughter, approached and shot him on the street in Soacha, Colombia, on Halloween night, last October 31.

He had his head covered and the presence of passersby didn’t stop him either. The decision was made and he unfortunately agreed to comply with the order. He silenced a life with bullets.

The assassin, with an apparently passionate motive, was captured by security cameras and in record time, authorities reported the shooter’s capture.

This was one of two violent deaths reported by Colombia, during the last night of October 2023.

Colonel Diego Fernando Vásquez Argüello, Infobae highlights, confirmed that the alleged murderer of Jefferson Alexander González, 29, was arrested in Ciudad Latina.

According to that medium, González wanted to be with his daughter that “witches night” and he came from Medellín.

This father, as tradition dictates, walked through the streets of Soacha so that his daughter could get candy. But death pursued him.

The criminal overtook him and “immediately fell to the ground as his little daughter watched in horror and bewilderment,” Infobae described.

Crime of passion on Halloween night?

Colonel Vásquez told the media that in Ciudad Latina, there in Soacha, they had arrested the suspect for this murder.

Similarly, Infobae reported, two other arrests were made. One of those arrested is a man of Venezuelan nationality. He apparently drove the motorcycle on which Vásquez fled after shooting González.

The other arrest “corresponds to the current partner of the victim’s ex-wife. Therefore, the hypothesis is being considered that the murder could be related to passionate motives.” Nothing is ruled out for the time being.

Those close to González remembered him before the television media as “an honest and hardworking man.”

A DJ murdered in Cali

The second murder took place in Cali, during a ‘traditional motorcycle caravan’ that takes place on the occasion of Halloween.

Unfortunately, El Espectador noted, “public order got out of hand.”

The media reported that that evening they had killed Felipe Vásquez, a well-known DJ from that Colombian city. He was 36 years old. His body was left at the foot of a motorcycle.

When he was near the Simón Bolívar highway with Carrera 39, “some armed men approached the ATV he was riding and shot him.” The celebration of the “witches night” in the area also ended at the point of the bullets.

In networks they emphasize that that evening the DJ took photos showing himself in costume and shared them on Instagram stories.

Cali authorities have announced that they are offering up to 50 million pesos (about $12,000) to people who provide information leading to the location and arrest of the person responsible for this second murder, which marked the celebration of Halloween on Colombian territory .

The ‘disc DJ’ from Cali was a motorcycle enthusiast and had more than 148,000 followers on Instagram. His sister Danna, published by El País, stated on her networks: “Your energy has never lied. We are going to say goodbye to you like the king of Guaracha that you were. Felipe Vásquez forever.” (JO)
