It is to be used for the so-called assisted suicide, which differs from euthanasia in that the person who has obtained consent to do so may be alone at the time of departure, and the final responsibility for the act rests with him (the doctor’s participation is indirect, but the whole procedure takes place in consultation with him / her) ).

In practice, a dignified departure is made possible primarily for people with incurable diseases whose condition worsens. The possibility of using the Sarco capsule is to allow patients to die in a place other than a hospital or center – the capsule can stand almost anywhere and provide – as the designer points out – for example “a view of the Alps”.
