PhoneArena: Android 13 has become the most popular OS from Google
The most common version of the operating system on Android smartphones has been named. This was reported by PhoneArena.
According to information from the Android Studio project dated October 1, 2023, the version of Android 13 released in 2022 took first place. OS received a share of 22.4 percent. Android 11 was in second position with 21.6 percent, and Android 10 was third in popularity with 16.1 percent.
Media journalists noted that Android 13 has noticeably increased its consumer base over the year—it had a 15 percent share in October 2022. Also, a year ago, Android 13 was only fourth in popularity: Android 11 was the leader.
According to experts, Google has made some progress in distributing new versions of the OS in recent years. However, due to the fact that end smartphone manufacturers set their own release dates for Android on their devices, the distribution of current versions is slowing down. This is confirmed by the fact that Android 9, released in 2018, is still the fifth most popular OS from Google.
At the beginning of October, Google introduced the first public version of the Android 14 OS. The first to receive the operating system were Google Pixel smartphones – the Pixel 4a model and newer devices.
