Two women, aged 93 and 95, died in France after allegedly suffering a sexual assault. The complaint borders on scandal and shame itself.

The events under investigation apparently took place on October 14, 2023 in the Geriatrics Department of the Victor Dupouy Hospital, which, as explained by 20 Minutes, is located northwest of Paris.

According to what was reported in Le Figaro and published by the aforementioned Spanish media, one of the grandmothers died “just a few hours later, while the second, four days later, lost her life due to cardiac arrest.”

The suspect is 44 years old

The 95-year-old woman has reported the alleged attacker. This concerns a 44-year-old man identified as Samir B.

This grandmother died after reporting what happened. The other alleged victim, according to the press, “suffers from mental disorders and dementia.”

According to 20 Minutes, this non-agenarian was unable to testify. However, “the police found the suspect’s semen in the old woman’s bed.”

It was reported in Le Figaro that the suspect had been arrested and taken into custody. But two days after the alleged sexual abuse, “he was released, under judicial supervision, by a liberties and detention judge.”

The measure was taken despite the fact that “the Public Prosecutor of Pontoise had requested preventive detention.”

In February 2023, France 24 published the result of an investigation that revealed “sexual assault of elderly women in nursing homes in France.”

These types of events are regrettable. The investigation was conducted by two journalists, Sophie Boutboul and Leila Miñano.

In their research they made it clear: “It is very difficult to detect these cases because women are silenced by their health status, some cannot remember. Moreover, if the cases do end up in court, the victims cannot testify because they are very vulnerable.”

For now, the trial in the case of the two non-peers apparently assaulted in a hospital in northwest Paris will begin on November 16.
