The Information: Vision Pro glasses will be used to diagnose diseases
Apple is considering using Vision Pro glasses as a medical device. This was reported by The Information.
According to a report from sources, Tim Cook Corporation is considering the prospects of using Vision Pro augmented reality glasses as a diagnostic tool. The company’s specialists are confident that using the device’s sensors it is possible to detect signs of depression, anxiety, stress or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the user.
In particular, with the help of cameras aimed at the user, you can monitor the pupils of the eyes and facial expressions. The material says the camera will be useful in diagnosing so-called “flat affect,” which is characterized by an emotionless facial expression and can be a sign of schizophrenia, autism, depression, brain damage or PTSD.

Also, high-precision cameras can monitor the position of the pupils of the user’s eyes and monitor his mood. The equipment can even detect swelling of the blood vessels in the eyes, an early sign of heart failure.
The report notes that these features may not be announced publicly. However, Apple recently explored Vision Pro’s potential medical benefits in detail.
In mid-October, Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman said that a cheap version of the Vision Pro headset could be priced at $1,500-$2,500. The original model of augmented reality glasses, introduced in June, costs $3,500.
