The Elec: affordable Samsung smartphones will receive an OLED display
The South Korean company Samsung has planned to release affordable smartphones with OLED screens. This was reported by The Elec.
According to sources, the first cheap device with an OLED display will be the Galaxy A15. The phone can have a screen with Full HD+ resolution. The device will also feature MediaTek Helio G99 or Exynos 1430 processors, a triple camera, and a 5,000 milliamp-hour battery with 25-watt fast charging.
The release of the new version of the Galaxy A15 is expected in early 2024. The authors of the publication noted that previously Samsung did not equip cheap devices with OLED displays – as a rule, they received IPS matrices. The company installed OLED screens in sub-flagships and flagships. Thus, the Galaxy A24 presented in May received a Super AMOLED matrix.
According to journalists from The Elec, in this way the corporation intends to draw attention to inexpensive smartphones. The material says that in addition to the OLED display, the brand’s cheap devices will feature protection from moisture and dust according to the IP68 standard and support for Android updates for four years after release.
In mid-October, Izvestia technology specialist Ivan Chernousov named the five best cheap smartphones. The top includes Realme C55, Huawei Nova 11i, Tecno Camon 20 Pro, Honor X9a and Samsung Galaxy A34.
