ZDNet: iPhones of many users began to turn off at night

Apple has not fixed or commented on the problem with smartphones turning off at night. This was reported by ZDNet.

Media journalists drew attention to posts on Reddit about the iPhone unexpectedly turning off at night. According to many authors, their phones began to turn off at night, but turned back on in the morning. One of the posts, published in mid-October, received more than 800 likes and 300 comments.

Users noted that they would not have discovered the problem if the smartphone had not asked for a password when unlocked in the morning – usually the iPhone requires you to enter a password after turning on or rebooting. Judging by the publications, the mysterious problem is not related specifically to the iPhone 15 or iOS 17 – users of different smartphones and different versions of iOS complained about problems.

“My iPhone 13 Pro Max also did this tonight,” noted a Reddit user under the nickname xVisenya. “The same. The smartphone turned off at about three o’clock in the morning with a fully charged battery. Turned back on before the alarm rang,” wrote a user under the nickname swjowk.

At the end of October, Apple released an iOS update that fixed an issue with the iPhone 15 Pro screen. The corporation said that it had fixed a problem that could cause artifacts to appear on the smartphone screen – the so-called afterimage.
