Android Authority: Google will add a repair mode to Android smartphones
A special mode will be added to the Android OS that will protect device data during repairs. Android Authority reports this.
Media journalists referred to a report by famous specialist Mishaal Rahman, who learned about a new OS feature from Google. According to Rahman, Android smartphones will have a recovery mode in which access to data on the phone will be difficult.
The specialist called the new mode a good way to protect personal data on the phone – contact list, photos and videos, SMS, etc. – during service at service centers. Apparently, the innovation will appear in future versions of Android.
The author explained that recovery mode can be launched through the gadget settings. The phone will then reboot and run a “clean” OS on the smartphone without user data. To exit recovery mode, the device owner will need to enter a digital password.
In August 2022, Samsung announced that it would add a repair mode to its smartphones. In the appropriate mode, the device will be locked and the data stored on the device will be hidden.
