Counterpoint: Samsung led the smartphone market in the third quarter of 2023

The Korean corporation Samsung has proven to be the leader in the global smartphone market. This is reported in the latest Counterpoint report.

Samsung’s share for the period was 20 percent. In second position was Apple, which received a share of 16 percent. Xiaomi was named the third most popular smartphone brand with 12 percent. Below are Chinese manufacturers: Oppo – 10 percent, Vivo – 8 percent.

Global smartphone sales fell 8 percent year-on-year but rose 2 percent from the previous quarter, agency analysts said. The Middle East and Africa were the only markets to record year-on-year sales growth.

The material states that the positive dynamics should continue until the end of the year. This is associated with the release of iPhone 15 series smartphones, the upcoming 11.11 sale in China and various Christmas sales.

Earlier, GSMA analysts said that more than half of the world’s inhabitants – 4.3 billion people – use smartphones. Experts also named the number of people who have not yet started using the mobile Internet – there are about 3.4 billion.
