Fake profiles of our airport are created, which trigger offers for the sale of lost luggage. This is a scam and an attempt to extort

– Warsaw Airport warns on its official Facebook profile (Chopin Airport).

The company also emphasizes that “it does not collect lost luggage and does not sell it.”

Please – if you come across a fake profile and an offer to sell luggage, let us know in a private message!

– informs the airport.

Beware of fake links on Facebook

Cybersecurity experts warn that fraudsters have recently become more and more active on social media. They use hijacked or fake accounts and profiles to publish entries designed to encourage readers to click on a link.

The scheme of operation of fraudsters is as follows. When clicking on the malicious link, a false request to provide Facebook login details is displayed on the screen, e.g. to supposedly verify age. When you provide your data, criminals can take over your account and use it to continue publishing false entries or phishing for personal data, including e.g. payment card numbers.
