The Israeli army this Sunday claimed to have found “hundreds” of alleged documents and materials from the Islamist group Hamas with instructions to the October 7 attack on Israeli territory, which left more than 1,400 dead, the vast majority of them civilians.
The military statement explains that the operations manual was found, as well as encrypted telephones, telecommunications equipment and documents containing espionage information distributed to Hamas militants.
Among that material were “detailed orders” to attack Israeli communities near the Gaza Strip, along with leaflets.
The manual describes coordinated actions, the phases of Saturday’s attack and keywords, and there is a section devoted to the kidnapping of civilians in places near the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military said.
At the same time, next to the body of a Hamas member on Israeli territory, the Israeli army is said to have found a detailed plan to carry out the attack on the Alumim kibbutz.
The military explained that since last Saturday, reservist soldiers from Unit 8200 have been part of a working group that is investigating, analyzing and examining a series of objects they collected from the bodies of Hamas members.
This material was analyzed by the Intelligence Directorate and the Yahalom Engineering Combat Unit.
At the same time, the government of Israel circulates among the media a photo with a piece of paper in Arabic, which apparently indicates the attack plan of the Hamas cell that managed to infiltrate the Alumim kibbutz.
That document states that the goal was to “cause the greatest possible damage” and capture hostages, and the infiltrated group was instructed to meet in the center of the kibbutz, concentrate the hostages in one place and to attack the defense force that had occupied the kibbutz. I’ve been there, on the edge.
