A 53-year-old man found dead in an apartment in Moscow, Russia, has been identified as Jorge Palacios Porras.

According to local media, citing the TASS agency, it was an Ecuadorian diplomat who served as minister of the diplomatic mission.

Ecuador’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a letter of condolence and expressed solidarity with Palacios’ family members.

The Ecuadorian was found in an apartment on Krivoarbatsky Street and the cause of death is believed to be heart failure as no signs of violent death were found.

It was indicated that Palacios had not communicated with his colleagues since the afternoon of October 10, so they went to see him and found him dead.

Authorities are investigating the incident.

The Ecuadorian embassy in Russia has indicated that it will hold a mass in his memory in the country’s capital this Saturday, October 14. (JO)
