After the premiere of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, some users raised alarm as both devices heat up significantly – not only when turning on the device or playing graphics-intensive games, but also during everyday use of the smartphone and using basic applications.
I have also been testing the iPhone 15 Pro for less than two weeks, and although my unit did not have any major problems with overheating, there were individual situations when the casing was so warm that it was difficult for me to hold the device in my hands.
Apple a few days ago officially admitted that something was up. Interestingly, however, the Cupertino company pointed out that the culprit here is not the new titanium design of the device (Apple explains that it is even more beneficial for heat dissipation), nor the A17 Pro system, but bug in iOS17.
Your device may appear warmer during the first few days after setup or restoration due to increased background activity. […] We also found a bug in iOS 17 that affects some users and will be resolved in a software update
–
The company also noted that some third-party apps, such as Instagram, may also be a problem and recommended that users update them to the latest versions.
