Nobody doubts anymore that the new iPhone 15 simply overheats. Some also experienced performance drops.
Apple finally knows what’s wrong with iPhones. There will be an update
For several days, Apple remained silent on the matter, apparently looking for the cause of the problems. Now they have finally been found and there are supposed to be several of them (but only two of them have been described). In a statement on Saturday, Apple explains that one of them is an error in the new iOS 17 operating system. Some third-party applications are also said to be a problem – including: Instagram, Uber and the game Asphalt 9. The first application has already been fixed as part of one of the updates by Meta.
The iPhone manufacturer also declares that the cause of heating is not the new design of the Pro and Pro Max models (a titanium frame was used instead of an aluminum one). According to Apple, the titanium element of the case is better at dissipating heat compared to the iPhone 14 Pro. The company added that the excessive temperatures to which smartphones heat up are not a “security risk” and will not affect the lifespan of iPhones.
The American giant is already preparing an update to fix the problem in iOS 17. The company declares that it will not reduce the performance of devices, which was feared by some customers. Apple also noted that the new iPhone 15s “may appear warmer” within a few days of setting up or restoring a system backup due to increased background activity.
