Apple explained the lack of advanced zoom in the iPhone 15 Pro with stabilization
Apple specialists explained to journalists from the French publication Numerama why the camera of new smartphones does not have a 10x zoom. The interview was published on the media website.
Journalists asked department heads John McCormack and Maxime Veron why 10x zoom did not appear in the iPhone 15 Pro. Advanced zoom is used in many flagships, including the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Representatives of the corporation responded that the optical zoom in the new device is limited to five times magnification for several reasons.
First of all, experts noted that high-quality photos with a 10x zoom are very difficult to obtain. Photos will be imperfect and blurry due to lack of stabilization. “Unless you have the steadiest hands in the world or a tripod, it’s really difficult to use,” the company explained.
Apple also said that users of other smartphones very rarely use 10x zoom. According to McCormack and Veron, in most cases, users see the world wide and without much magnification, so they take photos without zooming.
Earlier, the first reviews of the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro smartphones appeared online. The authors of IT publications noted the new titanium case and light weight, the USB-C port, the “Action” button and improved autonomy.
