Specialists from a company studying the design of gadgets lowered the repairability rating of the iPhone 14. In the fall of 2022, the company gave the new Apple smartphone a high rating of 7 points (“recommended”), but a year later they were forced to lower it to 4 points (“not recommended”). .

The company explained that they first assessed the new design of the smartphone, which really simplifies the process of self-repair. However, it later turned out that the repair procedure could be difficult due to Apple’s high demands on parts and the need to make complex adjustments. In this regard, iFixit enthusiasts criticized the American company.

The company’s material states that after completing the iPhone 14 repair, the user may encounter a large number of system notifications. Also, the functionality of the device may be limited due to errors. “Our assessment includes countless wasted money, time and tears of frustration on the part of Apple customers,” iFixit CEO Kyle Vince said in a statement.

Earlier it became known that the cost of repairing the back panel of Apple’s flagship smartphones has decreased. While replacing the panel on the iPhone 14 Pro cost $499, the same component on the iPhone 15 Pro can be replaced for $169.
