Ministerial resolution 000384-2023-MC provides for free entry following the inauguration of the pedestrian bridge for definitive access to Kotoshand at the request of the Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Huánuco.

“The General Directorate of Immovable Archaeological Heritage issues a favorable opinion regarding the authorization of exemption from the entrance fee to Kotosh on September 20, since the incentive regarding the use and recognition of cultural heritage generates the strengthening of the exercise of rights cultural,” says the device.

Kotosh is an archaeological complex more than 4,000 years old. The Temple of the Crossed Hands stands out: two pairs of high relief sculptures, with crossed arms, worked in raw clay.

According to official information, Kotosh received 31,638 visits in 2022, double what was registered in 2021 with 17,447. However, until June the number did not even exceed 5,000 visits. It was closed between April and July of this year.

In Huánuco, activities linked to tourism (accommodation, restaurants, transportation and commerce) represent around 19% of the region’s total production.
